Anesthesia is Hilarious! - Road to an Amputation

So I decided that if I was going to share the horrific events after Steve's second surgery from the anesthesia, that I should also share the wonderful effects it can have as well.

Because of the drama that ensued after surgery #2, I shared with the anesthesiologist my deep concerns about the toll it was taking on his body and that if they could do something a little different to hopefully prevent that terror that I would really appreciate it.

I should probably mention for those who haven't picked up on it already via the dates I've given, this is when the Chicago Cubs were fighting to make it to the World Series.  My hubby is a Cubs fan, he's from Illinois originally and has never wavered from them despite the disappointments year after year.

That being said ICU isn't a great place to watch games, but the sweet anesthesiologist said that she would keep him posted on the score throughout the surgery by whispering in his ear.

I prepped the newest ICU nurse with the drama from the previous and pre apologized if he yelled at her or wasn't himself. I told her how sweet and funny he is and that last nights dabacle wasn't the norm. There was no preparing her for what was about to be wheeled through the doors.

As they wheeled Steve into the room his only had enough sheet on him to cover his junk. My eyes were wider than a deer in headlights I'm sure as I asked what in the world they were doing. She said it was all they could do to keep him covered that we was complaining of being so hot.

The new ICU nurse, the one I warned about anger issues, entered the room and immediately began to get him covered up and the lovely gown put back on. Steve was totally hitting on her (sidebar - can't blame him, she was very attractive), can't recall exactly the nonsense he was saying until...

He looked her in the eyes and said "I'm a tiger...grrrrrr!" As he said it he held up his hand and swatted at her every so gently as if he had paws. Oh my goodness! We both started cracking up.

The night was very smooth, he slept seemingly well all things considered. Oh, and the Cubs had won that evenings playoff game. Yay!
