Essential oils have a wide variety of uses, each holding different advantages. You can integrate essential oils into nearly every part of your daily routine and incorporating essential oils in your family’s diet is easy and delicious!
FLAVOR - Essential oils are super potent because they are highly concentrated and taken directly from the plants. Be careful though, it doesn't take much to add an extra kick of flavor. Often one drop (or less it good enough) - use a toothpick to slowly add the desired essential oil into your food. You can always add more.
INTERNAL BENEFITS - Using essential oils internally can provide numerous benefits. Depending on the oil you're using you can support a healthy immune system and organs, provide your body with antioxidants, decrease inflammation and so much more.
CONVENIENCE - While raw, fresh ingredients are wonderful to use to add flavor to your food, they aren't always on hand. Having essential oils in your home and on hand makes is super easy-peasy.
SAFETY - Although a good majority of doTERRA Essential Oils are safe for internal consumption, there are some oils that shouldn't be used do to their chemical makeup. Pro Tip: doTERRA bottles are labeled for knowing this very easily. If they have Supplemental Facts - internal use is good to go. If it's missing the Supplemental Fact - the oil is not recommended for internal use.
Here's a few to AVOID: Arborvitae, Cedarwood, Cypress, Douglas Fir, Eucalyptus, Spikenard and Wintergreen
There are also some essential oils that have been approved for internal use are still very potent. The following essential oils are EXTREMELY POTENT and you should always employ the toothpick method when using these oils for cooking: Cassia, Cinnamon, Clove, Cumin, Thyme and Oregano. You should also dilute when adding to beverages (at least 4oz of fluid if drinking). Pro Tip: These oils should also be diluted with Fractionated Coconut Oil (or similar) when applying topically too.
Do essential oils remain in food after cooking? The short answer is yes. Although they may loose some potency they do retention a lot of their main components. You can learn more and read a scientific study about that

Italian Bread Dip - easy dip for appetizer or side dish using Oregano or Rosemary essential oils or mix it up and add a little of both.

It's important to note that you need to be very careful when consuming an essential oil and not all oils are created equally. I only use doTERRA do to their purity, potency and testing. I encourage you to do your research first and do NOT trust an over-the-counter bottles.
