Follicular Sores Burn - Life as an Amputee

So lets chat.  Last week we discussed using essential oils and related products over "the cream" to help with follicular sores, right?  And we know that Steve decided to give it a try.  So lets dive into those initial products he tried and why.

First we'll start with doTERRA's Correct-X.  This is a multi-purpose ointment that helps soothe skin and enhance the natural process of skin returning to a health state after being distressed.  That to me sounded like a much better option than "the cream" I'd found on the nightstand, however, it doesn't really address the burning sensation that follicular sores are famous for.  I'll get to how we addressed the burn in a moment.

I can't really say enough good things about Correct-X.  I mean not only does it help with Steve's follicular sore situation, but I use it daily on old and new scars, dark spots, blemishes, cuts, etc.  Sidebar, I may be a bit of a klutz, because I seem to always have a reason to use this amazing ointment.  Tee-hee!  Not to mention we have a son - need I say more!?!

This little tube is packed with such a powerful punch.  It contains the following CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils: Frankincense, Helichrysum, Melaleuca, Cedarwood, and Lavender.  Each of those oils are known to soothe and purify the skin.  What is CPTG? In a nutshell it's a barrage of testing that doTERRA performs on each of their oils to ensure its purity, potency and effectiveness. That's a whole other blog post, so lets move on.
In case you're new to the concept of essential oils I want to share a little bit about each of the oils that's in Correct-X and why it makes this ointment, specifically talking about use for follicular sores, so special.

*The "king of oils" (aka Frankincense) is used topically to rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of skin imperfections.  Helichrysum is known for its restorative and rejuvenating properties for the skin.  Melaleuca has a myriad of skin care uses - renowned for its cleansing and rejuvenating effect on the skin, it impacts various processes and functions in human cells, including tissue remodeling and metabolism. Cedarwood has clarifying properties.  And Lavender is commonly used to speed up the healing process of wounds and improve formation of scar tissues, and soothes occasional skin irritations.

I told you - a very powerful punch!

Alright, back to taking the burning away from those pesty follicular sores. Although the Correct-X is soothing for sure, nothing takes the burn away as well, and as quickly, as doTERRA's Clove essential oil. Yes, that's right, Clove. Most people think of Clove for its use in the mouth, however, its main chemical component, eugenol, is a "numbing agent" and works great on follicular sores.  Almost instantaneously taking away the burn. It doesn't hurt that it's also a powerful disinfectant.

Disclaimer: the results for Steve are very real and these doTERRA products work like a charm.  We can't speak to other essential oils though, especially if you're buying them over the counter at the store.  So please reach out to us with any questions. Keep in mind that not only can we help you to get the exceptional oils and products you need, but we'll be with you along the way to ensure proper use and continued education and support.
