What's worse than getting that horrible and unsightly blemish just before a big date or an interview? Oh, I don't know, how about every other red bump that shows up at any time! So annoying, honestly.
When I was in high school I played a lot of sports so I always seemed to have issues along my hairline. Additionally I would get one smack in the middle of my forehead. Or worse, I'd get identical and symmetrical ones on opposite sides of my face. Like here's one on my right cheek, oh wait, here it is on my left cheek. Has that ever have that happened to you?
I realize that there's a big difference between full on acne vs. some untimely pimples, but truly, for the person that's going through the aches and pains of complexion issues, we all struggle. So, I wish I had essential oils when...I had acne (well my version of it anyway).
This honestly is a full loaded statement because acne can be caused for a variety of reasons. Genetics (thanks family!), hormones, stress, clogged pores, sports (friction of sports equipment, etc) and even certain medications. No wonder why we can start having issues in middle school and why high school is the worst.
So what would I do if I had essential oils in my life when I was in high school? Well for starters I would have used the
HD Clear® Facial Kit (pictured below).
This is a 3 part system:
HD Clear® Facial Lotion - natural, advanced formula addresses all factors that contribute to troubled skin while supporting hydration and improving skin texture for a clear, smooth complexion.
In addition to the HD Clear® products, I would have a couple of oil tricks up my sleeve. Ones I actually use today, because let's face it (yes, pun intended, tee-hee!) I STILL will get a blemish here and there. But, now that I've balanced my hormones and have controlled several other areas of my life, like no medications and a good skin care routine they all rare their ugly selves is typically when I've been a little anxious or stressed. Yes, I have an oil for that too, but it doesn't prevent you from life happening.
So, back to those other oil tricks. Melaleuca is great to dab on because of its antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties. Lavender has amazing benefits as it's also an antimicrobial, but also is an antioxidant. Clary Sage can reduce skin inflammation. Then there's Juniper Berry. It's a natural antibacterial and antimicrobial, plus it also has detoxifying and stress-reducing properties that can protect the body against toxins that can lead to acne.
Last, but not least, is
Correct-X. It's a combo of oils: Frankincense, Helichrysum, Melaleuca, Cedarwood, and Lavender which all soothe and purify skin. This is a great ointment to use especially when you've decided to pick at your skin. And if you do have acne that's causing scarring, this bad boy will do wonders for you too.
