Sleep Wellness Program

According to the American Sleep Association 50-70 million adults in the USA have a sleep disorder. That means sleep deprivation is alive and thriving in our world. In fact, nearly 40% of US adults report short sleep duration.

How much sleep do we need?
Adults: 7-9 hours
Teens: 8-10 hours
Child 6-12 years old: 9-12 hours
Child 3-5 years old: 10-13 hours (naps included)
Toddler 1-2 years old: 11-12 hours + 1-2 hour afternoon nap
Infants 4-12 months: 10 hours + 4 hours of naps
Newborns: 14-17 hours per day

When teens and adults are getting quality sleep we do not need to nap, but since many of us do struggle with getting a full night sleep, a short 10-20 minute nap can really help. I’m sure you just thought to yourself what in the world will 20 minutes do me? I get it, but hear me out. You either need to allow yourself a full 90 minutes or you have to cap your nap time to 20 minutes max. It takes 90 minutes for our body to go through the full sleep cycle, so if you don’t have that time it’s important not to nap longer than 20 minutes or you’ll feel more groggy than before you took your nap. I can’t remember where I heard it, but I think it was from a doctor, who said that the best nap length is 12 minutes. I’ll be honest, I’ve tried it and it really works!

I have several blog posts on this topic because I was one of those 70 million people who suffered from a sleep disorder – insomnia. I struggled for over 20 years with my sleep issues until I discovered natural solutions and now I’m proud to say, I fall asleep quickly and sleep through the night more often than not.

A couple things I’ve mentioned in a prior post to help with a good night sleep are: 1) keeping the temperature in the bedroom cool, 2) use music, soft bedding, etc. to create a tranquil environment, 3) stop consuming fluids and foods at least 2 hours before bed, and 4) stop using screens at least 30 minutes before bed.

I’ll be the first to admit that I felt like I tried everything with no luck (until dōTERRA entered my world). I’m super excited to share that dōTERRA is once again making things super easy. They introduced Targeted Wellness Programs back in October 2020, coming out with 3 programs: Immunity, Relief, and Mind & Mood. And now, starting April 1, 2021 they’re releasing two more programs: Sleep and Respiratory.

These are super simple ways to target a specific health goal and get the exact products you'll want and need to help you achieve your goals.  I've always said that being a part of the Wellness spOILed community is to help you take the overwhelm out of using essential oils and related natural products, but this takes that concept to a whole new level.  Not only will you get the products you'll need, but you'll also get the instructions for a regimen that will support those targeted health goals.  And better yet, I'll still be here to help you!

Today I want to share the new program to help with our sleep needs. The Sleep Wellness Program is all about helping you rest, recharge and refresh.

How it works. You sign up. You use the products. You feel rested, recharged and refreshed!

In the first month you're going to receive Kit 1 in a reusable neoprene bag: 3 essential oils - Calmer® Touch, Cedarwood & Serenity®, plus Serenity® Softgels and two bonus items you can't purchase, a gratitude journal and a mini container of bath salts.

If you liked the first month and want to keep going the second month you'll receive Kit 2 in a eco-friendly recyclable bag: 5 oils – Copaiba, Breathe®, Serenity® Touch, Magnolia Touch, and Petitgrain. The bonus items are a gratitude journal and a Serenity® Body Butter.

Loving this program? If you continue on to the final and third month you'll receive Kit 3 in an eco-friendly recyclable bag: 5 essential oils – Lavender, Bergamot Mint, Peace® Touch, Balance® Touch Lavender, Cedarwood, and doTERRA Balance® Touch, and Adaptiv™, plus 3 bonus items: Serenity® Calming Linen Mist, Serenity® Bath Oil and another gratitude journal.

If you choose to stay on the Sleep Wellness Program, after the third month, you'll shift back to Kit 1 to repeat.  This is a full 90-day program, and daily use of your products is highly encouraged, will result in you needing to start replenishing them.  You can choose to stop or pause any of the programs at any time.  And yes, you can do more than one wellness program at the same time!

I’ve been loving the original 3 Wellness Programs: Immunity, Relief, and Mind & Mood. So now I’m super excited to have two more to add to the mix. Talk about creating simple solutions to meet you where you’re at on your wellness journey.

I look forward to you easily incorporating these into your routine and just remember I’m still here to help guide you and ensure you’re fully confident and supported on your wellness journey. Join me next week as I walk you through the Respiratory Wellness Program.
