The week of Thanksgiving is such a beautiful blend of anticipation, warmth, reflection, connection, and—let’s be honest—a little chaos too. Between preparing meals, hosting or traveling, juggling schedules, and navigating emotions, our bodies and minds often get far less care than they deserve.
That’s why this week is the perfect time to slow down and create intentional moments of peace, gratitude, and nourishment. When you care for your body with movement, your mind with stillness, and your heart with gratitude, the entire holiday feels different—softer, calmer, more grounded.
To help you ease into this season, here is your
7-day Thanksgiving Self-Care Guide. These rituals are simple and meaningful, and each day includes a supportive practice for your body, mind, and spirit. Let this coming week be a reminder that taking care of you is never selfish—it’s essential.

SLOW DOWN SATURDAY (11/22)
Today is your chance to create the energy you want to carry into the week ahead. Begin by slowing down.
Take 10 quiet minutes this morning (or whenever you may be reading this): no noise, no rushing, no lists—just stillness and breath. Dim the lights, diffuse your favorite essential oil (I like
Adaptiv or
Shinrin-Yoku), or step outside and breathe in the crisp November air.
Set a simple intention for your week, such as:
“I choose peace.”
“I receive the love around me.”
“I will create moments of gratitude every day.”
When your energy is anchored, everything else flows more easily.

SOULFUL SUNDAY (11/23)
Nourish your spirit today.
Whether through prayer, scripture reflection, journaling, or quiet meditation, let your heart be reminded of what truly matters. Use
Frankincense or
Magnolia to help you drop into softness and connection.
Try this journaling prompt from
The Self-Care Method:
“Today, I’m grateful for… and here’s why it matters to my heart.”This low-pressure reflection helps you move into Thanksgiving week with gratitude already alive inside you.
MOVEMENT MONDAY (11/24)
Move your body with purpose today.
Holiday stress often shows up in the shoulders, hips, neck, and low back. A simple stretch routine—even just 5–10 minutes—can bring life back into tight places.
If you’ve been craving deeper relief or grounding, this is also a perfect day to schedule an
AromaStretch session (if you’re in the Centennial, CO area or find a certified stretch practitioner near you) to prepare your body for the busy days ahead. A guided stretch releases tension you didn’t realize you were holding—and the essential oils + human touch make the experience even more restorative.
TENSION-RELEASE TUESDAY (11/25)
Today is all about melting stress.
If you’re doing holiday cooking or errands, pause once in the morning and once in the afternoon for a long exhale. Slow breathing = a calmer nervous system.
WARM & WELL WEDNESDAY (11/26)
Warmth is healing—emotionally and physically.
Sip on something soothing: spiced tea, warm lemon water, peppermint hot cocoa, or ginger-infused cider. These warm drinks support digestion, calm your system, and anchor you into the present moment.
Add a drop of doTERRA
Ginger,
Cinnamon Bark,
Lemon or
Peppermint (in a ceramic, glass or stainless-steel mug only) to create a cozy, calming ritual.
THANKFUL THURSDAY (11/27 – HAPPY THANKSGIVING!)Before the day begins, spend a moment grounding into gratitude. Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Take 3 slow breaths.
Then ask yourself:
“What one thing am I grateful for today that has shaped who I am?”
Whether you’re sharing the day with family, attending gatherings, or enjoying a quiet meal, let gratitude be your anchor rather than perfection or pressure.
Diffuse a comforting holiday blend like:
- Wild Orange + Clove + Cinnamon
- Frankincense + Balsam Fir
- Copaiba + Vanilla
*Use 4-6 total drops of essential oil for your diffuser blend (based on standard size ultrasonic water diffuser)
Let your home (and heart) feel warm and welcoming.
RESET SATURDAY (11/29)
After the fullness of Thanksgiving, give yourself a gentle reset. Be sure to check out my post next week: A Thanksgiving Reset: Nourish Your Body, Mind & Home with Simple, Natural Rituals.
Hydrate, stretch, breathe.
Diffuse cleansing oils like
Air-X, Lemon or
On Guard.
Declutter one small area of your home to invite fresh energy in—a corner, a drawer, a countertop. Small resets create big shifts.
This is also the perfect day to schedule your next
AromaStretch session, especially if the week brought tension, travel fatigue, or emotional overwhelm. And my pre-holiday special is sure to help you get the most bang for your buck – mind, body, soul and wallet!
This season is meant to be joyful, meaningful, and full of connection—but only when we take care of ourselves in the process. Let these seven days be an invitation to slow down, nourish your body, and fill your spirit with gratitude.
You deserve a grounded, peaceful, joy-filled holiday—and it starts with you.
